What is SUMO?
SUMO is the Stanford University Mathematical Organization. We are the by-students-for-students math club on campus. We host various events that are open to everyone: math majors and non-math majors, graduate and undergraduate.
SUMO Activities
Speaker Series
We host regular talks by a professors, grad and undergrad students on just about any and all mathematical topic under the sun.
Peer Math Tutoring
We run drop-in group tutoring sessions for students in MATH 19/20/21, 51/52/53, and 104. Math is tough but it's a little less tough together.
Drop-in hours: 4:00 to 8:00 PM in room 380-381T each Sunday, 6:00 to 10:00 PM each Monday through Wednesday in room 380-381T, 10:00PM to midnight on Zoom each Monday and Tuesday
Social Events
3:00 to 4:00 PM each Friday (location TBD)
Fun social events where students interested in math can get together and hang out!
Stanford Math Tournament

This is a competition we write and run every winter for hundreds of local high-school students from the Bay Area and many more globally. It will be held at Stanford in Spring 2024!
