When Sean Walker submitted these images he was beginning his 9th year of PhD study in the Computer Science Department. While always interested in birds, had only recently begun to explore birds through photography and maintain a blog at http://stanfordphoto.blogspot.com/ .

This individual was photographed around 1 pm on May 25th, 2007. It was quietly walking and observing near the intersection of Thoburn and Olmstead, got spooked by a deliveryman, and settled down across Serra Street in the wildflower area on the far side of the sidewalk.
