Artist's comment: " I'm continuing to work with this idea of taking the birds that inspire me and mixing them with familiar human objects... This painting was chosen to appear in the Birds in Art Annual Exhibit 2012 and subsequently selected to go on the Birds in Art National Tour."

          

Science Art note: It may be too much of a stretch to say that one of these birds may be just a window pane away from any given Scrabble game in the U.S. But thanks, in part, to backyard feeders they’re doing very well. Within the past 65 years, for example, they’ve spread from Long Island to the Mississippi River.
