Lee Jayred
Lee Jayred has studied birds since he was seven years old. In
1974 he left his career as vice president and
general manager of a pharmaceutical company in
San Francisco, and turned to wildlife art
full-time. As a falconer, Jayred had gained an
especially close association with birds of prey,
but he also specializes in backyard species and
shorebirds. His drawings have been featured on
the cover of the California Hawking Club
Journal and SouthwestArt and he has
had articles in various publications including
SouthwestArt and Wildlife Art
News. His studio is located in Palo Cedro,
