Peter
LaTourrette began photographing wild birds more
than twenty years ago. Although he has taken his
pursuit worldwide, the bulk of his work has been
in the Bay Area, especially Jasper Ridge
Biological Preserve. His asessment of local
photographic opportunities is succinct: "We are
blessed with a fantastic diversity of habitats
and species within a very short distance of
