Transitions, interactions or shifts in our geological and biological history
include processes such as mineralization, hydration, development of
atmosphere and oxidation.
There is beauty in the truths of the natural world. Photosynthesis from
bacteria created the oxidation event allowing for the rust of iron rich rock,
which in turn colored our world.
This is one of three images in a series. I did a lot of reading and research
and identified some major events that led to the creation of color on
earth. Those events are broken down into three main shifts: Shift 1
represents the mineralization process and outgassing from lava, that
contributed to building the atmosphere, the second, Shift 2 represents the
building of the atmosphere and the hydration of the earth/oceans from a
moisture laden atmosphere and the third Shift, represented here, reflects
the "oxidation event" attributed to photosynthesis creating the oxygen rich
environment that "rusted" the earth contributing to the colors we have
today. So in this piece you see the cyanobacteria and algae and the
rust/iron rich rock. |
