From Saur to Soar depicts a young Charles Darwin incorporated within a graphic representation of the evolution of birds from theropod dinosaurs. A primitive flowering plant and fossil bones of Seymouria contribute to the design. A version of this illustration first served as a dust jacket design for my book, Dinosaurs in the Garden (Plexus Publications, 1988), and was later modified to serve as a poster for the Western Interior Paleontological Society (WIPS) 2007 Founders Symposium: Inscribed in Stone: Evolution and the Fossil Record.
