Anomalocaris was a large (up to 1m in length) predator of the Cambrian seas. It is believed to have been
an arthropod, and is remarkable for its compound eyes and distinctive articulated feeding
appendages. This illustration was developed as part of a series of 3D reconstructions for Doug
Erwin and Jim Valentine's, The Cambrian Explosion: The Construction of Animal
Biodiversity (Roberts & Company Publishers 2013).
