Reconstruction of extinct species is possibly the best way that both scientists and the lay public can gain an appreciation for fossils and develop ideas of how these creatures might have looked and lived. Depending on the remains available, there may be more or less guess work when the artist fleshes out the life restoration. In this case, a number of components of the skull from a variety of individuals were available to reassemble a very likely reconstruction. This species, from the mid-Cretaceous deposits of north Texas, represents a newly discovered taxon in the process of formal description.
