Jack Horner and other researchers in the field of evolutionary developmental biology (evo devo) study the embryological development of living birds to better understand how they evolved from dinosaurs. Some researchers, by manipulating the regulation of genes, think it is possible to manifest ancient characteristics in a chicken, such as teeth. It might be possible to create a "chickensaurus," a creature that would not be a true Mesozoic dinosaur but would have teeth, clawed hands, and a long tail.
