This painting consists of various creatures I'd encountered mostly along the
Caribbean coast of Central America. Diaspora is a kind of thought experiment where I imagine all of these creatures underwater--for some a more or less normal reality for others a radically altered reality. There is that unique moment of confusion, disorientation, and opportunity--some will persist, some will adapt and survive, some will perish.
