The work is from a series of ‘Speculative’ family trees. The image portrayed is of my studio model, Alison contemplating her own place in the drawing of the Tree of Life of Mammalian Evolution as compiled by Richard Dawkins, and is part of a much bigger installation, which comprises large, pen and permanent ink drawings on mirrors or reflective surfaces. The piece encourages the audience to both absorb and reflect upon information about themselves: literally and metaphysically. The work was shown in CMK as part of the 2012 UK Summer of Culture and was supported by The Arts Council England.
