Youth Creativity, Innovation & Sustainable Leadership Program
with China High School Students from Beijing, Shenyang and Guiyang
A workshop to promote creative thinking and impart leadership life lessons. Organized in collaboration with Stanford alum, Jasper Pan.
Venue: Stanford University

A select group of high school students from the cities of Beijing, Shenyang and Guiyang in China visited Stanford and the Bay Area for a CSDGC Youth Leadership Development workshop. They engaged in discussion with guest speakers, took part in creativity exercises and projects, and went on field trips. Their project experience took them step-by-step through the stages of product development, and exercises in teamwork providing a platform for discussion about youth leadership.
Key elements of the workshop included:
- Talks by Jim Leckie, Pasha Nahass and Stephen Murphy-Shigematsu.
- Visits to the Cantor Arts Center, Intel Museum, and the Google campus - to learn about the culture of discovery and innovation.
- Discussions about creative flow, innovative design, emotional intelligence, teamwork, positivity and mindsets for the youth context.
- SkillScan Assessment.
- Mentoring by CSDGC interns including Stanford students and a student from Saint Francis High School (Mountain View, CA).
