Youth Creativity, Innovation & Sustainable Leadership Program
with the City University of Hong Kong Department of Information Systems
A workshop to explore the creative universe of young students for the benefit of sustainability and integration with life.
Venue: Stanford University
A group of students from the City University of Hong Kong visited CSDGC for a Youth Creativity, Innovation and Sustainable Leadership workshop. The workshop introduced topics that link creativity with a simple innovation framework to obtain life lessons in leadership. Students were encouraged to focus on sustainabiity & philanthropy solutions in project work - to be engaged in universal causes of the present. Variations on several exercises were introduced to continue our experimental design: Brainstorming with a Used Can of Tennis Balls; Feature List Exercise with Shoes; Problem Selection with the Assistance of a Spinning Wheel; Introductions by Interview.
Key elements of the workshop included:
- Presentations by Jim Leckie and Glenn Katz.
- Conversations on the topics of problem-solving, sustainability, idea development and emotional intelligence.
- Project work to demonstrate the process of innovation and develop leadership insights.
- Drills to strengthen positivity, fast-thinking and youthful creativity.
- Storycrafting an Elevator Pitch for idea communication opportunities.
- Visits to Ayasdi, Intel and Google.
- Mentoring by CSDGC interns.
