The overall goals of this project are to investigate (1) how the brain processes temporal structure in music, (2) how emotion emerges from temporal structure in music and how this relates to the brain's affective information processing systems, (3) similarities and differences in cognitive and affective processing of music and speech, and (4) invariant neural representations of auditory "objects".
