One of the pio­neers of New York-style On 2 salsa in the Bay Area. We love his ultra-smooth style, inter­est­ing com­bi­na­tions, and his “Romero-isms” (its all just smoke and mir­rors, dancers!) If you ever get the chance, take a les­son and you’ll see what we mean.

JC Labio — Afinkao Dance Company

Com­bin­ing mambo rhythms of On 2 salsa with the raw­ness of its Afro-Cuban roots, Oakland-based Afinkao direc­tor Jac­fil Labio cre­ates dynamic chore­o­gra­phies ooz­ing style, rhythm, and sexy body move­ments. Of course, one of the Salseros direc­tors is also on this team, so per­haps we aren’t being objective.

Katie Mal­oney — Kañadonga

Katie has some of the best ladies’ styling we’ve seen in the Bay Area. We love watch­ing her dance! What more can we say?

Frankie Mar­tinez — Abakua Dance Com­pany (NYC)

Frankie is leg­endary, one of the most well-known dancers in the world. And his moves are just so freakin’ cool!
