The macromodel of the Federal role in technology transfer,
which follows, provides a conceptual foundation of the process at the
national level. Elements in this model show
- The relationship of the Federal Laboratory Consortium and the Federal
Laboratory System to the Federal priorities
- The way in which the VA laboratories and other Federal laboratories
collaborate in furtherance of the Federal priorities
- The transfer outcomes of the applied research and development in the
laboratories, designed to benefit consumers and advance the professions.
The key to this model is the fact that the Federal laboratories are now
being encouraged to work in collaboration, furthering the free flow of
technology to benefit the disabled and the general public.
This means that you should give some thought to ways in which the
technical know-how, materials, and products from other labs can be tapped
to advance your work.
