Carolynn Patten, PT, PhD, of the Center for Mobility, in Palo Alto, was featured in Physical Therapy (Vol 82 Number 12 Page 1276-1277) for receiving a $750,000 3-year grant from RR&D during the last round of Merit Review. Entitled "Therapeutic Effects on Neuromuscular Function in Post-Stroke Neuromuscular Function in Post-Stroke Hemiparesis," this research will impact more than 2.1 million individuals in the US who experience stroke or cerebrovascular accident, a third of whom have major physical disability and impairment of movement functions.
