VA Professional Experience

1988-1995: Chief, Technology Transfer Section, Rehab. R&D Center ,
Veterans Administration Medical Center, Palo Alto, CA. Organize, direct,
oversee, and coordinate all technology transfer activities at the Center to
encourage the participation of private industry, and negotiate agreements which
will bring aboout the production and marketing of R&D Center products to
make them available to disabled veterans. Responsible for patents and
licensing, as well as patent disclosures and pertinent procedures.

1984-1988: Associate Director, Rehab. R&D Center, Veterans
Administration Medical Center, Palo Alto, CA. Oversee, coordinate, and review
technical proposals, act for the Director in his absence, and carry out
independent research on skin behavior and skin blood flow related to pressure
sores. Also responsible for patents and licensing.

Total of 59 technical publications in peer-reviewed journals over a
span of 40 years in the fields of aerodynamic stability and control, wing-tail
interference on aircraft and missiles, the fluid mechanics, stability and
control of submarines and of rotary-wing aircraft, the fluid and solid
mechanics of blood flow in arteries and in the microcirculation, the mechanics
of red blood cells, skin blood flow, and pressure sores, and technology
transfer from laboratory prototype to commercial production.
