Rehabilitation Goals

Graph of 3-axis rehabilitation goals

Rehabilitation engineering has added two dimensions to its traditional direction of developing means to compensate for permanent functional losses. The new directions are aimed toward prevention of further impairment (exemplified by the Wearable Accelerometric Motion Analysis System - "WAMAS") and corrective measures to reduce or eliminate chronic impairments (such as the Artificial/Cellular Graft for Pressure Sore Repair).
