John Huizinga is the Walter David “Bud” Fackler Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has been on the faculty since 1980, is a four-time recipient of the Hillel L. Einhorn Excellence in Teaching Award, and from 1993 to 2004 served as Deputy Dean for Faculty. He has held teaching positions at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and the Sloan School of Management at MIT. John received a B.A. in economics and a B.A. in mathematics from Pomona College and a Ph.D. in economics from the MIT.
John has been Yao Ming’s NBPA registered agent since Yao’s inaugural season, representing Yao in his dealings with the Houston Rockets, as well as with major endorsement partners. He has also been involved in Yao’s charity work, which includes the establishment of foundations in the U.S. and China to assist in the construction of schools, and efforts on behalf of Special Olympics, AIDS prevention and awareness, and the animal conservation organization Wild Aid.
