3. How to make a retrovirus.

 

Once a packaging cell line has been made, or some other means has been devised to provide the necessary packaging proteins, one must provide the retroviral RNA with the requisite cis-acting sequences. Required is sequences from the long terminal repeats at the 5' and 3' ends of the DNA.
