Rahul Pandey

Biography:
Rahul is a junior Computer Science major from Rochester,
Michigan. He is tremendously excited to serve as president of
the IEEE Stanford student branch and hopes to help the IEEE
community enjoy and explore the engineering world. When he's not
preparing for IEEE or coding, Rahul enjoys baking vegan
desserts, listening to Justin Bieber, and smiling. |

Aakanksha

Biography: Aakanksha Chowdhery received the B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in 2007 and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering in 2009 from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, where she is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering under Prof. John M. Cioffi. Her research interests include communication theory and its applications to wireless and wire-line systems. During her graduate studies, she has been working on dynamic resource management algorithms for multicell wireless systems, digital subscriber lines and power-line communications. She is a recipient of Stanford’s Diversifying Academia, Recruiting Excellence (DARE) fellowship award in 2010.

Vijay Narasimhan
Major, Year:
Materials Science, Phd 2014
Role: Chair, IEEE EDS chapter Biography:
Vijay is a PhD candidate and Fulbright Scholar in the Materials Science
Department at Stanford. Vijay is investigating how to use nanoscale
roughness and ultra-thin surface coatings to make electron emission more
efficient in sensors and energy conversion devices. He holds a Masters
in Nanotechnology from the University of Cambridge and an undergraduate
Computer Engineering degree from the University of Ottawa. He brings 8 years of service with the IEEE to his new role as EDS
Chapter Chair. He served as Chair of the University of Ottawa Student
Branch and was Membership Development Chair with IEEE Ottawa Section and
IEEE Canada (Region 7). He has been awarded the IEEE's Larry K. Wilson
Award and the IEEE Canadian Scholarship for his service.

Sameep Mehrotra
Role: Financial Officer Major, Year:
Electrical Engineering, BS Biography:
Sameep is a junior in Stanford's Electrical Engineering department,
hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota. After two years of exposure to
engineering curriculum, he has decided to expand his interest beyond the
academic realm and will serve as the financial manager for Stanford's
IEEE branch. He loves food and music more than anything else in life.

Biography:
Howard is a junior Electrical Engineering major from Incheon,
South Korea. He has been a member of IEEE since 2008 serving in
academic liaison division. He likes to take pictures and eat
desserts.

Peter (Long) Zou

Biography: Peter is a senior majoring in
Electrical Engineering. Hailing from Beijing and Singapore, he
is very excited to serve and work with the IEEE community at
Stanford. In his spare time, Peter enjoys musicals, a cappella,
and many sports.

Xiaoying Shen
Role: Academic Liaison Major, Year: Electrical Engineering, MS/Ph. D Biography:
Xiaoying is currently working toward the MS/PhD. degree in
electrical engineering under Prof. Philip Wong. Her research
interests include novel electronic devices simulation / modeling
and low power circuit design. Before her study at Stanford, she
has worked on low cost healthcare related research in UCLA.
Xiaoying enjoys exploring different cultures, places, and food,
through traveling and reading.

Sy Boyh
Role: Corporate Liaison Major, Year: Materials Science, BS Biography:
Sy is a senior majoring in Materials Science and minoring
in EE. This year he hopes to bring interesting technology
industry speakers to Stanford to discuss the future of tech and
career choices with the Stanford IEEE community. In his
past-time, he enjoys running, surfing, coding, learning
languages, and traveling.

Pranav M Pai
Major, Year:
Electrical Engineering, MS 2011-2013
Role: Corporate Liasion Biography:
Pranav completed his Bachelor's in Engineering Degree in Electronics and Communication in 2007. He is pursuing his Master's in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. His interests center around systems, control and optimization. He led a Rural Solar Electrification Project in Karnataka as Head of the Indian Youth Climate Network in Bangalore, and has been interested in smart energy grid management ever since.
He has debated extensively during his undergrad years, having won several accolades internationally. He also enjoys soccer, swimming and comic books.

Frank Nothaft
Position: Adviser
Major, Year: Electrical Engineering, BS 2011
Biography: Frank is an alum of
Electrical Engineering, where he graduate with a major in
Electrical Engineering and a minor in Management
Science & Engineering. He is currently working with
Broadcom. Frank's academic interests are in digital
systems design and computer architecture. Frank has worked with
Stanford IEEE over the past three years as a Freshman Intern his
Freshman year, as the Undergraduate Liason his Sophomore
year, and as the IEEE Chair in his senior year. Frank
originally hails from Vienna, VA, a small suburb of Washington,
DC, and used to compete for the Stanford Track and Field team,
but now competes as an unattached athlete in the discus and
hammer throws.

Siddharth Jonathan

Biography: Siddharth Jonathan is an alum of the Computer Science Masters program where he graduated with Distinction in Research. He also received the Best Masters Thesis Award at Stanford in Computer Science. He is currently a Scientist at Powerset where he works on Ranking for the Powerset Natural Language Search Engine. His research interests span Web Search, Machine Learning, Probabilistic Models, Text Mining and NLP. Nitin Dua
Position: Adviser
Major, Year: Electrical Engineering, MS 2009
Biography: Nitin has been involved with IEEE
since 2003. He has great interest in cleantech, healthcare and
high-tech areas and is currently involved in management
consulting. Previously, he has got experiences in a early stage
startup, investments at a premier financial firm, venture fund,
technology companies and research institutes. He holds a
Masters in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He
has held engineering position at Wolfson Center, UK and visiting
scholar position at Stanford.
In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor sports, exploring new
places, meeting new people and break dancing sometimes while

Andrew Maa
Major, Year: Electrical Engineering,
MS/PhD 2014 Biography: Andrew Ma
received his B.S. degree from the Department of Electrical
Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of
California, Berkeley. He is now working towards his MS/PhD
degrees at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Stanford
University. His research interests are autonomous implantable
medical electronics.
