Going against the 80% chance of rain, today’s BBQ was a success. Many of us took the opportunity for a tasty break from our studies. We thank people who attended for their presence.

Notice: Due to a conflict with the Super Bowl game, we cannot maintain our originally announced time. The event will take place on Saturday February 6th from 12pm to 5pm, instead of Sunday. The complete announcement follows:

The Hellenic Association at Stanford would like to invite you to our Tsiknopempti BBQ event.

The event will take place at the BBQ and lounge area between studios 5 & 6 at Escondido Village, on Saturday, February 6th, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Vassilopita Event 2010 Recap

On Sunday beginning at 5pm we held the annual Vassilopita event. Many people attended making this event a success. Not only active Greek students, but also friends and alumni were present giving us an opportunity to meet new people. In the end, the lucky coin (shown in the photos) made its appearance marking a year of good luck for the person who found it.

Fire On Fire Fest 3

As part of International Week 2009 please join us for the re-edition of FireOnFireFest, a multinational BBQ party bringing together the outdoor cuisines from Turkey, Greece, Mexico, Germany and Iran. We will have grilling teams from different countries making sure you have the time to relax and talk for hours to people from of all over the world, while you endlessly snack on our delicatessen from the grill, including veggies! We will also have outdoor dancing to the beats of the participating countries.

Easter Celebrations

Join us for the Easter 2009 Celebrations on April 18 & 19!

On Holy Saturday, we will have the “Mageiritsa” event, that will take place in the Elliot Program Center at Stanford University. The event will start around 12:30 am, right after the Pascha Liturgy ( map ).

On Easter Sunday, we will have the Easter event with the traditional roasted lamp, taking place on the back side of the Blackwelder building of the Escondido village in the campus of Stanford University ( map ).
