I was mainly interested in developing numerical methods for PDE-constrained optimization problems. Applications for PDE-constrained optimization include optimal control and inverse problems. I worked on developing efficient and scalable SAND (simultaneous analysis and design) approaches for nonlinear dynamic problems and on approximating a PDE-constrained optimization formulation with a reduced order model. I was also interested in developing statistical models for social sciences.
