Obtain Immigration Verification Letter

Stanford employees who need to have their employment status verified for immigration purposes can obtain and print an Immigration Verification Letter directly from The Work Number, a website provided by Equifax Verification Services. 

Obtain Immigration Verification Letter

  • To log in to The Work Number, you will need Stanford’s name, or code (10526), and your User ID and personal identification number (PIN)/Password.
  • Please contact the Financial Support Center to request your confidential PIN if this is your first time logging in to The Work Number. During the login process, you may be prompted to confirm your identity with challenge questions to enable PIN resets in the future.

  1. Select Employee
  2. Select Log In
  3. Enter 10526 in Employer Name/Code: field
  4. Select Continue

    Uncheck Remember my ID on this Computer if you are logging in on a shared computer.

  5. Enter your Social Security Number without dashes or spaces
  6. Select Continue
  7. Enter your PIN (personal identification number)
  8. Select Log In

    You may be sent a one-time passcode to your chosen authentication option to verify your account information.

  1. Find the Immigration tab on the Main Menu
  2. Select Print to print the Employment Verification Letter for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Foreign Government Agencies and Embassies

    Use caution when printing to a public printer.

  1. Unselect Remember my ID on this Computer
  2. Select Main Menu or Logout

  • Information Privacy and Security: Safeguard your personal information by keeping your Social Security Number and PIN confidential. You can change your PIN at any time by selecting the appropriate My Account option from the The Work Number website. Secure your information by deleting your salary key after you have given your verifier access to your record.
