From ESWStanford
On Sunday, April 29, we got together to learn about slow sand filtration, a simple, cheap, yet effective technology for purifying water. While many water treatment plants in North America and Europe use such systems, they are also extremely appropriate in developing communities as they are easy to construct and maintain and rely on natural processes of filtration and biological breakdown of contaminants. We will be displaying the filters we produced at the Stanford GreenFest from 12-4pm on Friday, May 4 on White Plaza. Come out to join us and learn more!
