1. Discussed planning of Biodiesel Workshop - scheduled tentatively for 17th/24th
- Eric H. contacted a couple of speakers who are willing to come and chat. One guy can talk about modifying his enginer to run straight vegetable oil (SVO) and another owns a biodiesel refinery in the area. We need to supply time and date and audience size to confirm possible scheduling of speakers.
- Grace talked to Adam Kreek, who's making a biodiesel reactor as a prototype for the Green Dorm Project. Adam detailed the basic procedure of making biodiesel -- requires low-cost, accessible materials like methanol, isopropanol, sodium hydroxide solution, pH indicator, some columns, hot plates, mixer/blender.
- A lot of this stuff is available in a safe environment through the Chemistry teaching labs located in the Mudd Chem Building. Eric J. volunteered to speak to the chemistry lab teaching faculty about procuring these facilities for our use during the weekend.
- Also discussed getting faculty to speak to cost-benefit analysis of biodiesel. This depends on how much time we have...we agreed the workshop shouldn't take more than two or three hours. Everyone please think about whom they could contact regarding interesting speakers.
Adam Kreek said he would be able to speak to the crowd -- and possibly have a demonstration of his reactor.

2. Discussed outline of letter to SoE Deans
[edit]
ACTION ITEMS:
- Grace will draft an intro.
- Karim will draft the ABET and ESW Class and other campus precedent portions.
- Everyone else will be responsible for edits. (This will be easy due to the wiki!)THANKS FOR THE WIKI, WHIT AND KRISTOF. :)
- Sophie will find out information about how the SoE mandates teaching credits for professors -- and how we can 1)get ESW class awarded teaching credits 2)convince professors to use our class for those credits. (possibly a newer prof)

3. General Meeting Policies
- For now, officer meetings are limited to invite-only. If someone explicity expresses interest by email or in person, go ahead and invite them to the "core meeting." Sort of like a test-drive to see if they like it or not.
- We plan to have at least one general mtg a quarter. For this quarter, we'd like to hold one to brainstorm Spring Class Workshops.
[edit]
ACTION ITEMS:
- Heather: Find out TA funding for class
