- We have announced our project for our winter quarter class:
CEE 177S/277S: Design for Sustainability: Solar-Powered Refrigeration in Rural Tanzania, Winter 2010
Info Session: Wednesday November 4, Y2E2 first floor, 7 pm.
Class Application: due Wednesday December 2, 11:59 pm for winter quarter.

- ESW-Stanford received the 2009 Dean's Award for Outstanding Achievement! Congratulations to everyone on all the work that went into projects, the class, workshops, and events.

- ESW Class - CEE 177S/277S:Design for a Sustainable World. Join our international design projects in preparation for summer project work. Work will be conducted throughout the year, with classes on Tsunami-safe structures in Padang (Winter/Spring), solar-powered refrigeration in Tanzania (Winter), and ecological sanitation in Mexico (Spring).
- Technical Workshops: We're planning workshops around the themes of the built environment (earthquake preparedness), water resources and quality (water quality testing), and energy (building solar cookers, making biodiesel from waste vegetable oil).
- Officer Planning Meetings (Wednesdays, 7pm)

About Engineers for a Sustainable World
Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) is a national, non-profit service organization that aims to address the challenges of global poverty and sustainability by harnessing the energy and creativity of young engineers. ESW approaches engineering-based challenges of developing communities through partnerships that foster cultural, educational, and technical exchange. The Stanford Chapter of ESW was founded in 2003, and has, since then, hosted numerous events and projects including workshops, international internships, design projects, and conferences. ESW welcomes participants from all disciplines and skill-levels.
