Director of Technology, Stanford d.school

Bruce is an adventurer at heart and the lure of the d.school adventure drew him like a moth to the light.

Bruce's passion for adventure, the challenges of the unfamiliar and the joys of discovering new things initially led him to explore various parts of the world by bike and eventually drew him and his career to the exciting buzz of Silicon Valley.

Bruce comes to the d.school from a career of leading IT innovation in corporations, in startups which aimed to change the world and in venture capital firms that have fueled much of the frenzy of the Valley.

A California Bay Area native, Bruce was exposed at an early age to lively family discussions about the aesthetics of design by his father, a local architect and his mother, a philosopher at heart.
