media+design is an advanced d.school practicum that explores the role of design and the creative process in media including radio, television, film and the internet. The class is particularly interested in understanding the underlying frameworks, motivations and social narratives of user participation in social media. Students will apply the design process to understand, synthesize and prototype the intangible experiences of new media applications. Throughout the quarter students will work alongside a real-world project partner and hear the unique perspectives of new media practitioners including writers, producers, designers, and technology executives.
