Our Mission. Stanford Club Baseball brings together talented players who want to continue to play competitive baseball in college. The team allows student-athletes to balance their academic and athletic pursuits, while bonding over the game they love to play. Our Founding. The Club Baseball team was founded in spring 2007 by Alex Ackerman-Greenberg (’10), Andrew Hall (Law ’09), Colin Penrose (’10), Jack Lazarus (’10), Mark Doing (’09), Michael Sylvan (’10), Sean Beausoleil (’10), and Daniel Bohm ('10). We joined the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA) in August 2007, played our first unofficial game against the Bay Bears in November 2007, and played our first official NCBA game in March 2008 against UCLA at Flood Park in Menlo Park. Our League. Stanford Club Baseball competes in the Southern Pacific North Conference of the National Club Baseball Association. The other teams in our conference, as of the 2008-09 season, are Humboldt State University, U.C. Berkeley, U.C. Davis, U.C. Merced, and U.C. Santa Cruz. Our Latest Season. We began the spring 2008 season 0-8, suffering series losses to UCLA, U.C. Davis, and U.C. Santa Barbara. We won our first April series, taking two of three games from Loyola Marymount University. Following the LMU series, we swept three games from Humboldt State University and won our first game against eventual conference champions, U.C. Santa Cruz. We split the final two games with U.C. Santa Cruz, and then swept U.C. Merced to finish the season 10-10. Improved pitching and timelier hitting accounted for the dramatic turnaround. Four of our players were recognized for their achievements during the 2008 spring season. Catcher Alex Ackerman-Greenberg (’10) made Second Team All Region after hitting .421 with 16 runs and 22 RBI. First baseman Danny Clarkson (’10), second baseman Jack Lazarus (’10), and centerfielder Carlo Salcedo (’11) each made Third Team All Region. Danny batted .360, homered, and knocked in 15 runs. Jack batted .391, knocked in 17 runs, and scored 20 runs. Carlo batted .412, maintained a 1.073 OPS, and had 16 RBI. Our History. Below is a list of our results and officers for each year since our founding:
