Carmichael Ong
Bio-X Bioengineering Graduate Fellow 2011/2012

Carmichael’s research interests lie within the bounda-ries between mechanical engineering, biology, and medicine and in the interface between fundamental research and clinical application. He would like to focus on device design or robotics and biomechanics for improving medical applications by using engineer-ing concepts to more effectively and efficiently develop better technology for biology and medicine as well as to better understand biological systems. By building a strong foundation in mechanical and bioen-gineering concepts, his graduate studies will give him the flexibility and ability to work on a wide variety of medical projects.
