Judith Frydman is a Professor of Biology at Stanford University.
The Frydman lab is interested in understanding how eukaryotic cells maintain homeostasis of their proteome. How do proteins fold following translation? How are misfolded proteins recognized and degraded? How does the cell manage misfolded protein aggregates? Knowledge of how proteins actually fold in the cell should eventually provide the basis for controlling protein function under normal conditions and during abnormal conditions of environmental stress, aging and disease. |
