Basic Kicking

            Good axe kick; awesome kicks overall.

Poomse

            Good power.  Good eye positioning.  Good stances, good power.  Good power.

Sparring

           One and two step sparring needs more practice. Watch overrotation of the torso. Good power, but watch too much tension!

Basic Kicking

            Front kick must be straight with straight foot; side kick must be in a straight line.  Overall good kicks.

Poomse

            Aim for deeper stances.  Relax more; your body is very tense.  Chamber your blocks; relax; don’t bend your wrists when punching.

Sparring

         Good stances and checking! Just make sure that you rotate your upper body more and turn your back foot forward.  One and two step sparring needs more practice.

Basic Kicking

            You should get your kicks higher; bring your knee up on roundhouse kicks. 

Poomse

            Make sure you look before turning.  Aim for more power behind your kicks and punches.  

Sparring

           Good technique and footwork. Now work on accuracy in kicking.

            Good stances.  Good job looking at your target before executing a technique.  Good stances; lock out your arms and hands.

Sparring

            Watch footwork and distancing. Remember to condition outside of class.

            Try for more defined stances; you need more consistent power with your kicks, punches, and blocks.  Good job differentiating your stances.  Tighten your fist; your stances still need some work.  Look before turning; make a fist and punch with the proper striking surface.

           Good sparring feel, and nice checking. Loosen up a bit.

            Be sure to fully extend your kicks.

            Good overall power; check your stances.  Good power; work on your hand movements.  Work on your stances; relax more!

Sparring

           Good defense and aggressiveness. Try to loosen up and add variety with footwork.

            You have good speed on your kicks; stay on the balls of your feet.  Good speed on kicks, but lock them out more; kick higher.

Poomse

            Good power; try for higher kicks.  Good focus; keep your legs straighter in walking stance; good hand techniques.  Good power.  Make sure you differentiate between walking stance and front stance.

Sparring

            Nice combination! Things to work on: distance, stability with back kicks, and kicking too low.

Basic Kicking

            Don’t hunch forward when kicking.  On axe kicks, the power should be directed downwards; keep your eyes and focus forward.  Keep your head up when kicking.

Poomse

            You need more practice on your poomse; aim for better power.  Your head moves a bit too much, and you should aim for more crispness in your techniques.  Don’t look at the person next to you; work on your stances.  Always look before you make a turn; try to keep your back straight when you kick.

Sparring

            With checking,you want to convince your opponent you'll actually kick, so be a bit more aggressive. Move your whole body, not just feet stamping up and down.

            Stay on the balls of your feet.  Good form, but be sure to fully extend your kicks.  Good axe kick.

            Try for more power in your blocks and punches; curl your toes back in kicks; good stances.  Good knowledge of your forms; good stances, punches, and kicks.  Good movement; good stances; aim for more power; your punches and joonbi need work.  Good stances; aim for more power.

Sparring

            Good counter attacks. Less tension.

            Be sure to kick past the centerline on roundhouse kicks.  Work on your flexibility.  Try to work on your side kick a bit more.

Poomse

            Remember your forms!; fix your front stance—your feet should not be in a line; aim for crisper blocks and punches.  Don’t look at the other people doing their forms; you need more power with your punches.  Your front stance needs work; your front knee turns too much inwards.  Try to get more power behind your kicks and punches.

Sparring

          Great counters and distancing, just continue to develop those combinations and mix in some punches. Make sure your fist is closed.

            Good power; good spirit.  Great height and form on side kicks; Try to move more quickly during the kicking pattern.  Awesome form; good flexibility.  Good axe kick.

Sparring

            Good movement, but watch distance. Try more blind counters.

            Kiyap!  Good form on your roundhouse.  Good form; kick harder and faster.  Work a bit on your side kick.

Poomse

            Try to add power to your movements.  Need more power with your punches; good stances.  Try to add crispness overall.  Aim for more power; watch your stances.

Sparring

           When fighting more than one opponent always try to align this way ( O is you, X is opponent): O X X. Also, watch distance to make sure you're not in kicking range.

            Try to make your back kicks higher.  Good form kicking; good job staying on the balls of your feet.  Good speed; kick past the centerline.

Poomse

            Good power and stances.  Your back leg needs to be straighter in your front stance, and your back stance can use general work.  Good power, but work on your stances; make sure your fists are tight.  Good crisp blocks and punches; your front stance is too long and narrow.

Sparring

           Try axe kicking to use height advantage.

Basic Kicking

            On your axe kick, make sure the power is directed downwards.  Kick more intensely.

Poomse

            Aim for more power; good stances.  Try to make your back leg straighter in your front stance.  Work on your power.  Good stances.

Sparring

            Don’t just retreat backwards, move sideways more; keep your hands up.  Good basic roundhouse counter.  Good energy and kiyaps; kicks are well-placed.
