Alex

Year: Sophomore
Major: Human Biology
Pledge Class: Spring 2012

Hi, I’m Alex! I grew up in Dallas, Texas, but I’m originally Canadian (which is why sometimes people have no idea what I’m talking about – I swear, a garburator is a real thing!). Learning about other cultures and traveling are probably my two favorite things in life, but I also love downtowns, ikea, sunsets, mulan, coupa’s chai teas, and nerf guns. In my spare time I enjoy watching re-runs of how I met your mother, obsessing over Korean dramas, hoarding cranberries from the dining hall, late night boba runs, exploring new shops and restaurants, laughing about life’s awkward moments, and hearing other people’s stories.

Audrey

Year: Sophomore
Major: Chemistry
Pledge Class: Fall 2012

Hi, everyone! I’m a major in Chemistry (non-biological.. and no before you ask I’m not a pre-med). I live for laughing, goldfish!!!!!, HIMYM, quantum mechanics, traveling, ultimate frisbee, Modern Family, community service projects and social-e, fruit, planning surprises and event, taking “artsy” pictures and making things pretty, trampolines, open spaces, being Taiwanese, and my ridiculously mature group of friends. I’m from Palo Alto, so I had to move extra far and really work at assimilating when I came to Stanford. P.S. I haz a futon. And Schrodinger’s cat is incomplete.

Carrie

Pledge Class: Fall 2011

Now that I’m back from studying abroad in Berlin, I’ve resumed my usual habits: waging epic battles with my ChemE and Chem p-sets, spending lots of time cozying up with Shakespeare, volunteering with different FLIP-like organizations (shout out to The Phoenix Scholars Program!), trying not to blow things up with the ChemE car team, and (of course) hanging out with my fellow APhiBros!

Chau

Year: Senior
Major: Biology – Ecology and Evolution
Pledge Class: Spring 2010

Hi, I’m Chau. I pledged APO the spring of my freshman year, so I’ve been with the group for a while – and it’s been a blast. My previous positions include VP Service, Co-President, and Sergeant-at-Arms. I love having adventures, researching ecology, making art, living by the ocean and staying warm. One day, I hope to find myself in a career I love, but until then I’m looking for new adventures, new people, new experiences. Ask me anything (really).

Christine

Heyyyyy I’m Christine! I’m from Los Angeles and I’m a prospective psychology major looking for something to minor in. I have double-jointed elbows and a quirky sense of humor. I enjoy drawing, listening/singing/dancing to terrible pop music, going to the beach at sunset, and sharing a good laugh with my family and friends. My favorite movie is Legally Blonde and my favorite “guy ” movies are Gladiator and The Godfather. Please be my friend; I (sometimes) have chocolate. :D

Cody

You should join me! I also REALLY enjoy learning new super cool facts about cancer biology and research. I’m really passionate about addressing social stigma surrounding HIV — ask me questions!

Grace

Year: Junior
Major: Biology
Pledge Class: Fall 2012

Hi! I’m a ‘junior’ majoring in Biology because I decided on pre-medicine during my year off. (And the study of life is cool, too, I guess.) I like food, sleep (so I’m basically a bear), being spontaneous, but also being organized. In fact, I’m pretty sure I have OCPD (obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, which isn’t the same thing as OCD). Unfortunately, I’m also asocial a lot (AKA an introvert), but whenever I’m not feeling misanthropic, come and socially interact with me! :D

I really like watching action/adventure/police dramas like Burn Notice, Grimm, Once Upon A Time, and Alcatraz. I love gadgets (technolgical and otherwise) and I have a penchant for fountain pens and other esoteric things. I’ve recently taken up rock climbing at the Arillaga gym and I always need a climbing partner!

What up guys! I’m an Economics major with a minor in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. In my free time, I like to play sports. I’ll play any kind of sport (I was on the quidditch team at Stanford when it first started too) except any sport in the water because I can’t swim. Some other things I like doing are learning hip hop and breakdancing, watching Asian dramas, exploring different cultures, eating yummy food, and crocheting stuffed animals.

Justin

Year: Junior
Major: Biology
Pledge Class: Spring 2011

Howdy, folks! My name’s Justin Bui, though I have been referred to by an assortment of other monikers (let me see… there’s JB, JBui, Justincredible, Justinappropriate, and Justin Buiber). I have a penchant for very bad puns and corny jokes, if you can’t already tell. I love the sciences, especially biology. The great outdoors and watching nature/history documentaries are two things I really enjoy. I also love reading; Harry Potter, The Catcher in the Rye, and A Tale of Two Cities are some of my favorite books. My philosophy in life is that it is not enough to do good but to also inspire others to do the same, and I really hope I’ll be able to fulfill that as a physician or professor.

Melissa

Year: Sophomore
Major: Biology
Pledge Class: Fall 2012

Hi there, my name is Melissa Wibowo, and I am a pre-med sophomore majoring in Biology. I am a mellow and chill girl who likes to listen to music, watch TV/movies, take lots of pictures to post on Facebook, eat good food, drink boba/tea, and shop. I am from the East Bay, and I went to Dougherty Valley High School, where my interest for service first took its roots and developed in Interact Club, in which I was an officer for all four years. Lots of my good memories of high school involved Interact, so I was sad to leave it behind when I graduated. However, I am super stoked to now be a part of APO Zeta and to create new memories from living the life of leadership, friendship, and service. #YayAPOZeta!

I love YOU! :) I’m a warm, friendly person with a wicked sense of humor, so hit me up if you want to hang out. Or if you just want to snag a free meal at Storey, the best house ever. We can dance to my Sizzling Salsa exercise DVD, bake pumpkin bread, watch Mulan (my answer for life), and discuss carboxylic acids. Sounds like a solid night.

If you want the opposite, I enjoy eating, sleeping, cooking, mixing drinks, tennis, swimming, hiking, camping, building weird things, arranging things on tables so they are aligned, yelling, dressing up, being with friends and family, and my dog. I’m excited to meet you!
