Whether you’re looking to improve fitness or just to take a break from your hectic work or school schedule, the Physical Education, Recreation and Wellness Program can help you with your fitness, wellness and recreational needs. Even if you feel that you’re too busy to visit us, no problem. The Fitness & Wellness staff can visit you at your convenience with NEW On the Road Wellness Sessions.

The Nitty Gritty Fitness Class

We can provide a series of short 20-30 minute classes at your work site that would address one of the following: core training, cardio or strength. Contact Jennifer Sexton to schedule jbsexton@stanford.edu or 724-2919.

  1. What exactly is a Fitness Assessment? This session will explain
the components of a Fitness Assessment and the reason why
they are done. We’ll bring our testing equipment so we can demonstrate
an assessment.
  2. Do I really need to come to the gym to get a workout?
This session will give you suggestions on how to create a workout
that is just for you in whatever space you choose; your home, your
dorm room, or at work. We’ll also talk about some of the myths
surrounding exercise.
  3. Women and Weights - The Truth
This session will discuss exercise principles of strength training, practical tips for implementing a program, and answer some of the myths around weight training for women.

Our gift to retiring Stanford University employees for all their years of dedication and hard work.  The gift package includes 2 FREE PERSONAL TRAINING SESSIONS (Fitness Assesment included).  Must be a newly retired (within one year) or are retiring within six months from Stanford University.  All patrons must show proof of retirement.
