Diane Jakubowski

A sincere Sesquisalutation to Diane Jakubowski, who has recently joined our department as Event Coordinator for the Linguistic Institute. Her interests include camping, hiking, biking, golf and reading. She has studied in France and has taught ESL in Japan. She and her husband, Brian, have a 9-year-old son, Daniel, and a 6-year-old daughter, Audrey. After teaching ESL at San Jose State for the past five years, she's happy to try something new and is looking forward to the big event this July!

• Look Who's Talking

  • John Beavers (Georgetown U) is talking at UT Austin on Feb 19th. His title is "Prominence Preservation in Argument Realization: Some Morphosyntactic Consequences".
  • Then he's off to the University of Kentucky, where on Feb 23rd he'll talk about "Semantic Prominence in the Syntax: A Case Study in English Object/Oblique Alternations".
