Webinars are live, online, interactive trainings accessed from your computer and are facilitated by skilled trainers. You use your computer to connect via WebEx and your telephone to listen to the instructor.

How to Conduct Training When You're Not a Trainer (Recorded 11/2009)

One hour webinar with an overview of training approaches to use when you do not have formal training as a trainer. Topics include:

  • Adult learning styles review: Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic; what training tools to use for styles
  • Structuring the training: Creating behavior-based outcome statements, doing an outline, developing appropriate practices, gathering reference/supporting materials
  • Communication tools to check learner's understanding

 

Avoiding Evil Emails (Recorded 09/2007)

One hour, 15 minute webinar to help you send email that is:

  • Professional, credible, accurate
  • Has a quickly understandable subject line that states what the email is about and is clear

Content includes strategies to avoid unintentional tone issues (such as when the words come across as demeaning), and curb rambling (when your email goes on and on, not getting to the point)

 

Before Participating in a Live Webinar

  • A STARS email reminder message, sent to you 1 day prior to the webinar date, will contain information about the webinar URL and password to use.
  • Be sure to log onto the webinar site 10 to 15 minutes prior to webinar start time to prepare your computer for the webinar.
  • Have a telephone headset for the audio portion of the webinar.
  • Turn off your email and screen savers to limit distractions.
  • If there is a participant guide, print it out prior to the webinar.

The recorded webinars listed below are available for viewing and listening. Click the title of the webinar. A WebEx window will open and after approximately 20-40 seconds, the webinar will begin to playback.
