Conducting Training When You're not a Trainer

Dates/Times (choose one):

Wednesday, November 4, 10-11 am

Location: Your computer and phone

Instructor: Valerie Beeman, Learning & Development

Administrative staff are frequently expected to train other staff, bosses, faculty, or temps and can benefit from some training basics to have an effective outcome. Typical training situations could include helping someone learn how to use the Axess timecard or a piece of office equipment, or helping another employee learn a new administrative process.

This 1-hour webinar will provide basic guidance on key aspects of implementing an effective training interaction when the person conducting the training has had no formal instruction to be a trainer. You will learn the importance of identifying the intended behavioral outcomes for the training, understand different adult learning approaches to facilitate ease of learning, and use key communication skills before, during, and after the training to ensure training effectiveness.
