Once you have detailed your user’s point of view, you are ready to brainstorm possible solutions that might satisfy the user need you are focused on. You will brainstorm solutions for product and service solutions and key business model elements.

If your user and payer are two different people, you’ll want to brainstorm around both your user and payer points of view.

If your payer isn’t clear, you can brainstorm who potential payers might be. For inspiration, you may look at revenue models from other organizations:

Direct sales to beneficiaries (e.g., charge for product, fee for service, interest payment)
Pay-as-you-go
Pay what you want
Cross-subsidization
Alumni pay
Franchise fees
Advertising
Subcontracting impact mandate from government
Pay for success
Ownership
Transaction fees
Subscriptions, Software as a service (Saas)
Licensing technology (B to B)
Freemium
