NAME

Dantia MacDonald received her BA in English and creative writing at the University of Iowa. Following graduation, Dantia worked as a grant-writer and manager at the Upward Bound Program and later moved to Prague, Czech Republic, to help administer the regional Fulbright Program. She has taught English at Prague's Charles University and video production at a television station in Ohio. Dantia recently co-directed a documentary about the shunting of Roma (Gypsy) children into Czech schools for the mentally disabled.





My Brother Anton

This personal film chronicles the filmmaker's relationship with her younger brother, focusing on the first year he became ill with schizophrenia. The film is told in an experiential abstract manner using images of bugs and birds to tell most of the story.

This film is a portrait of Matt Burgos, a fifteen year-old Filipino American hip-hopper. The film follows Matt as he hones his breakdancing, spinning, flowing, and graffiti skills in a quest to become a Universal B-Boy.
