Joanne Shen

Joanne Shen is a graduate of Princeton University where she received her bachelor's degree in English literature in 1994. Upon graduation, she worked as a journalist in China and Hong Kong. In 1998, she co-directed and co-produced King of Kowloon, a half-hour documentary about a crippled Cantonese graffiti artist, which has won the Distinguished Award at the Hong Kong Independent Film and Video Awards. It has recently been screened at festivals such as the DoubleTake Documentary Film Festival and the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival.
