The History of the Body Site could not have come into being with out the financial assistance of the Associate Dean of Humanities at Stanford University. I thank John Etchemendy for his interest and support in this project. The raw material for this site came from History 13 in winter 1998. I thank the students in this class for spending a quarter thinking about body parts and finding interesting quotations in the books we provided. Most importantly, a special thanks goes to Rosemary Rogers in HPS, who helped us scan in student projects early on, and to Rebecca Bence, who added the illustrations, did the initial formatting of the project, and helped make a rough idea into a web site.
