Is a Haas Center for Public Service designated Cardinal Course. Cardinal Courses apply classroom knowledge to pressing social and environmental problems through reciprocal community partnerships. This is called Community Engaged Learning as well as service-learning. For students taking the course for 3 units, the credit units received can be used towards the 12-unit requirement for the Cardinal Service Transcript Notation. Is an Innovation and Organization Approved Course for the Program in Science, Technology & Society (STS) (3 credit option)
Satisfies the optional course requirement for the BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (3 credit option)
