Call for
Virtual Assistive Technology Faire Participants
This virtual event - as yet unscheduled - will provide an
opportunity for students and community members to get an up-close look at a
variety of assistive technology devices and learn about available
services.
Users of assistive technology products as well as small companies
and agencies serving individuals with disabilities and older adults are
encouraged to display, demonstrate, and discuss assistive technology
devices.
Each vendor will have about 5 minutes of dedicated time on the
Zoom session to hightlight their product or service. (Zoom connection
information will be emailed prior to the event.)
How to Register
If you are a vendor of assistive technology products or supply
assistive technology services and would like to participate, please contact me
and submit the following information for the Faire
webpage:
- Name of the assistive technology
device(s) or service(s)
- A suitable photo or logo
representing the device or service
- Name of company or service provider
along with webpage url
- Name(s) of individual participating
in the Faire
- A short description of the device or
service including what it is, what it does, who it benefits, and any special
features.
On the Date of the Faire
- Connect to the Zoom session by
4:30pm.
- Be ready to answer questions about
the device or service: the problem it addresses, who would benefit from its
use, why the device or service is superior to other commercial products or
services, specifics of the design/development process pursued for the device,
and any marketing information.
- Prepare to stay until
6:00pm.
Please note that this is meant to be an educational event rather
than an opportunity for sales.
