Complete tasks to gain XP, level up, and unlock new chapters. Each chapter unfolds a personalized adventure that brings you closer to your goals.
As you progress, your virtual pet levels up. Each new chapter may reward items your pet can wear, creating a story-driven journey with your pet as the hero.
Receive notifications to keep you on track. If tasks are missed, your pet subtly shows it, offering a lighthearted reminder to stay engaged with your story.
This poster showcases our CS 147 journey, starting with the needfinding stages and ending with the high-fi prototype. We presented Unfold to over 300 people at the CS 147 Project Expo on Friday, December 6th from 6 - 9pm.
This is how we transitioned from the low-fi prototype to to the medium-fi prototype of the levels scene! We incorporated a retro theming to evoke storytelling and nostalgia in the user and set our app visually apart from others.
These are the medium-fi prototypes of our three main tasks users can perform in our app. The simple task is to enter and complete one of your tasks. The moderate task is to choose an in-game option to advance your story. And the complex task is to personalize your story theme and character.
We explored the initial domain related to personal and social accountability by performing our initial needfinding interviews. This presentation contains the empathy maps for each user and key insights we learned form these interviews.
Slides (PDF) Slides (PPTX)We redefined our domain to focus on sustainable habits to support personal accountability. We brainstormed "point of view" and "how might we" statements to explore potential solutions. Then, we performed experience prototyping to test our assumptions.

We showcased our vision through a concept video, visualizing the
task flows and use cases of our app. We explored how specific
interactions will occur without a specific UI. We also found
values in our design via market research and considered ethical
implications.
We brainstormed four different concepts for our app, then
sketched a paper low-fi prototype of the best concept and tested
it with over six users. We tested each task in our prototype and
measured efficiency, ease of navigation, and also eagerness to
use the app.
We created a medium-fi interactive prototype of our app
utilizing Figma. We also incorporated a retro theming and design
system.
We created a high-fidelity prototype of our app utilizing the
cross-platform development framework React Native.
Our medium-fi prototype went though a heuristic evaluation by
experts and peers. We improved our medium-fi prototype with this
feedback to create our high-fi prototype.
We presented our project to interested parties and experts from
Stanford, industry, and research in the CS 147 Project Expo on
Friday, December 6th from 6 - 9pm.
Check out the demo of our final product! We've poured our
hearts out for this product, so we hope you enjoy!
This is everything we've done in the past 3 months all
synthesized in a single document!
