• Sat, Apr 24: Congrats on making it to the end of Week 4! I hope you're all gleefully jamming on Assignment 3 and have a newfound appreciation of multiprocessing and distributed computing! Some announcements:

  • Assignment 2 submissions are mostly graded, and the rest should be graded in the next few hours, at which point I'll release them. I already know the median grade on the assignment was a perfect 66 out of 66, which is all kinds of fantastic! I graded ten student submissions myself, and the code quality of most of them was incredibly impressive—some of the best code quality on this assignment that I've seen in my eight years teaching CS110! We don't release solutions, of course, but I typed up an Assignment 2 Redux handout last spring and updated it to include a few more things I saw this quarter. Please give it a read, and let me know if you have any questions or comments.

  • Also, I mentioned in the Assignment 3 handout that I cut a problem that I normally include during quarters when I can give students more than seven days. Several students have expressed interest in tinkering with that problem anyway, so I created a little handout about it right here. Note that you aren't required to do anything for this extra problem at all. It's just there for you to do for fun if you're interested and somehow have oodles of free time you can't otherwise seem to spend.
