Stanford University
Free and open to the public
For this first ever LaborFest
event at Stanford, in recognition of an inspiring year of labor
activism on
campus, we will be showing Maquilapolis,
a film about the
lives of factory workers in Tijuana. In addition to the main feature,
we will
also show videos from the past year of actions by the United Stanford
Workers
(SEIU Local 2007), Stanford
Labor Action Coalition (SLAC), and the Sweat-Free
Stanford Campaign. The program will conclude with a panel and
discussion
featuring worker and student representatives from the USW, SLAC, and
Sweat-Free Stanford.
